Apparently the Government is taking over the
Victoria Falls Boat Club (VFBC) after a rental deadlock with the owners. And as
you can imagine, it is also noted that this situation is causing panic among
tour operators ahead of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO)
general assembly scheduled for next year right here in Victoria Falls.
The piece where I extracted this information from
even went on to describe the white dominancy of the VFBC board, lol. I mean
this is actually irrelevant in the report but at least it makes the ones with a
sense of humour laugh out loud.
Anyways it is also reported that last month, the
government issued the club with a six month notice to vacate the premises.
However sources within the ministry said the tenants
are not going to be compensated for their infrastructure, which includes a club
house and a harbour.
